A Saturday of
education, sales and great food
It was hot,
fall is on the horizon, and Saturdays at SCP
Plano needed a boost. On August 18, The
Plano Fire Department joined IPSSA-Dallas
and SCP-Plano for some HAZMAT education and
great food. Plano inside salesman Will
McGrath and Ron Gall, Fireman and SCP
customer, came up with the idea. Ron and his
PFD cohorts discussed the hazards of mixing
granular chlorine with other substances and
demonstrated the perilous results. The
barbeque grill and smoker were in full gear
thanks to Lance Rust, president IPSSA-Dallas.
Bill Davis of Pentair Water provided a fire
of his own in his infamous multi-station
alarm beans. Good thing the Plano Fire
Department was around. Several members of
IPSSA-Ft. Worth also participated. Although
there was not an official head count, it was
estimated that the day’s attendance was
close to 125 people. Many thanks to #67
manager Doug Horton, the Dallas IPSSA board,
and the Fire Department Station No. 2 of the
great city of Plano, TX.
